Frequently Asked Questions

  • While the term “concierge medicine” is commonly used, you may also hear it called a direct-pay or retainer-based practice. In this model, I operate outside of the traditional insurance system. Patients pay an annual membership (which can be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually), allowing for greater access to me and more time dedicated to their care.

This structure allows me to serve as a true medical home—coordinating care, communicating directly with specialists, and advocating thoughtfully on behalf of each patient.

  • Our practice is intentionally small and relationship-centered. We strive to create a warm, family-like environment where patients know their physician and staff personally.

When you call, you speak to a real person, not an automated system. We prioritize timely access and can accommodate urgent needs quickly, often the same day.

  • Your membership covers all care provided within the office—there are no additional charges for visits, phone calls, or emails.

We focus on comprehensive, proactive care, including:

    • Annual in-depth physical exams

    • Preventive care and health optimization

    • Urgent visits and follow-up care

    • In-office services such as blood draws, urine testing, EKGs, joint injections, and select cancer screenings

The goal is to keep you healthy and thriving, with a physician who knows you well and is consistently available to guide your care.

  • No. Most patients maintain health insurance—often Medicare or a commercial plan—for services outside the office, such as specialist visits, hospital care, medications, imaging, and laboratory studies.

Think of the membership as an investment in personalized medical guidance and advocacy to help you navigate the broader healthcare system.

  • All patients have direct access to Dr. Thrash via his personal cell phone and email. During business hours, the office is readily available, and communication is typically prompt and direct.

  • Yes. We make every effort to accommodate same-day or next-day appointments.

With the addition of Jenna Withrow, PA-C, our availability has expanded even further. Jenna brings expertise in orthopedics and women’s health, enhancing our ability to address a wide range of concerns quickly.

  • Yes. Care can be delivered in the way that works best for you—whether in person, by phone, or via video.

Many of our patients travel or split time between locations, and we aim to provide flexible, continuous care. For patients with limited mobility or those in senior living communities, we can also arrange home visits when appropriate.

  • While Dr. Thrash is trained in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, the practice is focused primarily on adult care. We may see adolescents in certain situations, but we do not provide care for young children.

  • If this model of care resonates with you, we encourage you to contact our office to schedule an introductory visit with Dr. Thrash and Jenna.

This allows us to meet, discuss your needs, and ensure that the practice is a good fit for both of us. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you.
